The Williamsport Chess Club meets most Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the coffee shop area of the Books-A-Million store at the Lycoming Mall.
Club meetings are open to anyone with an interest in the game of chess, regardless of age or ability. Stop by anytime during the posted meeting hours.
We will be resuming our very popular chess lessons at the James V. Brown Library starting Thursday, January 15, 2015,. This year we will have 2 “classes”, one for beginners and an advanced class for those who have a basic understanding of the game. These classes are open to anyone regardless of age, though generally we recommend 6 or 7 as a reasonable age to start learning the game. No advance registration is necessary. We’ll meet every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Library’s 3rd floor Lowry conference room. These chess lessons are free and open to the public. Please share with family, friends, etc. who may have children (or themselves) interested in learning the game. For more information, e-mail: email@example.com.
